Our Roots

I am Sam Martin, owner and founder of our Ayurvedic Doula business, Cradleboard Creations LLC, and our soon to launch sister Ceremonial Doula Program, The Womb Scrolls. Through the years I have cultivated a love for everything womb, tradition, nourishing care and weaving relationships with woman. I have become a Sacred Plant Medicine Herbalist, a birth doula, Ayurvedic Doula, placenta encapsulation specialist, post partum yoni steam facilitator and offer array of Ayurveda & ceremonial services. My visions run deep with womb wisdom, plant/food medicine and bringing together women to support other women.

Intention

My work and offerings are an extension of my heart and authentic self. A melding of passions, vision and calling. I work with and am fueled by intention. My intention is to give all of myself and essence for each one of you women and families to feel supported, held, loved and nourished.

Alignment

I put out an invitation in the universe - calling out to the women who are destined and aligned to work with me. I believe in alignment. Their is a Doula for everyone and I pray for the ones who I'm meant to nourish, hold and support through this sacred journey. So, if you have stumbled upon this page and feel something deep inside, a connection, I'd love to hear from you because I am waiting for the ones who feel that calling with me.

The Cradleboard

The business is named after a traditional carrier indigenous people used to carry their child on the back. My roots are of mostly northern Europe decent -Irish, Scottish, Swedish, Norwegian and traces back to the Sami tribe (a traditional people of this region who used cradleboards). Also, my children's father is Iroquois and we were gifted a cradleboard by his people as it was a tradition amongst the tribes here. But it's the energetics while I feel drawn to the Cradleboard - it is the medicine that we carry all the children of earth on our backs and our work and choices decide that future. It holds all who have come and are coming. So, my purpose to nurture mother's and their families resonates with this. I also have a calling to bring back tradition and ceremony so then it can be passed down to our children. So, my calling is to care for the women carrying our future.
